BROSSAC
Our nearest village with amenities, Brossac offers many useful facilities and things to do. There are restaurants and a bar. A Spar grocery store, pharmacy, bank with cash dispenser, butchers and a boulangerie. There is also a taxi office and a bus sevice. There is an interesting 12th century church. There are also tennis courts which can be hired. Each year The committee des fetes de Brossac plans and hosts all types of Fetes (fiesta / festival) ranging from street markets, bric a brac sales, fun fairs, night markets,dinners, dinner dances and a firework display with music for the July holiday is held at BROSSAC LAKE ~ L'etang Vallier. L'ETANG VALLIER
This is a holiday village built around a man made lake with a beach which is open to the public. An inland paradise during the summer months where the whole family can spend the day relaxing and swimming. There are other activities including mini golf and occasional pony rides during the summer months.
CHALAIS
Stratigically built high on the hill overlooking the town, Chateau des Talleyrand is the focal point of this popular market town. Monday is market day and many roads in the town centre will be shut and occupied by traders. Originally a 12th century fortress, the chateau was rebuilt and transformed in the 14th and 18th centuries.
